A resource designed to support last minute revision for the component 3 exam. Designed to support students who are taking a resit, those who have not revised or lower ability students aiming for level 1 criteria (secure the basics). Contents include key terms, exam structure support, impact of factors, actions to improve health and obstacles to actions. This is a resource that includes information and some short revision tasks with answers. I have created this resource to top up knowledge of students who are retaking the exam after their first set of results. If you have only just started teaching component three then my revision/homework booklets may be more suitable to ensure depth of understanding.

Final revision lesson to use with your groups before their component 3 exam. This lesson focuses on securing their categories knowledge for section A. Many lower ability students can secure a level 1 pass/ merit on this exam by being effective in answering section A of the paper and therefore the focus of the lesson is on this. For many higher ability students their success is based on them achieving full marks in section A and therefore it is important that they know the different categories fluently. A reduced price lesson to support all those who are wanting to give their students the last push.

Many schools are setting work for students to complete over the summer holidays. This workbook will introduce students starting their level 2 study to some key concepts. The workbook has three tasks; PIES development, life events and nature vs nurture. For students who have already studied the course for a year, Homework Book 2 may be more suitable.

Lesson designed to be used as an introduction to unit 7 as part of a year 12 transition day. This is however relevant to and suitable for teaching the abuse section of unit 7 assignment 1. The lesson focuses on the failures of multi-agency working and how this resulted in the death of Baby P, Victoria Climbie and Daniel Pelka.

Lesson introducing students to the nature vs nurture debate for the start of learning aim B unit 1. The lesson applies learning to the obesity debate to make the argument more relevant and to set a foundation for learning in the next two lessons (also available). Help your students as you approach the component 3 level 2 exam by using a whole class feedback approach to completing an exam paper. This activity provides a brand new case study and questions based on ‘Dara’. The package also comes with a whole class feedback sheet so that you can address strengths and misconceptions quickly when only marking a small sample of work. This has been an effective way of working through questions that my group have struggled with whilst still utilizing the holistic structure of the exam paper.

Full unit of work for unit 7: promoting safe practice. This package includes all power points and structures required for students to complete the unit. Lessons include pre-planned differentiated questions to use as mini plenaries. The power points also include small sections of modeled work to demonstrate the criteria. 14 lesson power points in total. Coursework structures are set out in a way that allow students to clearly see how the criteria for pass, merit and distinction is achieved.

Lesson which prepares students to answer the final question on the paper about obstacles. If you have purchased my other exam question resources you will find this lesson continues the Nora case study. For those that do not have these resources, there is adequate information included so that your students can answer the question. WAGOLL and metacognitive answer planner included. A full practice exam paper for BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Component 3. This case study is based on Flora, an elderly woman living with relatives following a stroke. All 6 questions are planned base on the case study and reflect those that are asked in the exams. Allow your students to practice a greater range of potential exam questions.

A lesson which covers a number of health and social care job roles and how they contribute to the response to Coronavirus. I have planned this to teach to the students who will be remaining in school during the closures but it could also be set as a task for students who are at the start of their health and social care study. The lesson therefore doesn’t meet a scheme of learning but will be a good discussion opportunity. Lessons are differentiated by outcome and may need further differentiation by resource depending on your student group. I have tried to keep it simple at this point so that it can be adapted to different year groups.

This is a Power Point that can be used to complete a ‘walking, talking mock’ with your students. It should be used alongside the exam paper and mark scheme that can be found on the Edexcel website. Questions and activities are planned out to support student recall. Some answers are modeled to promote class discussion around skills.
